THE ONE-DAY CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION (CEP) PROGRAM CONDUCTED BY SREE ABIRAMI COLLEGE OF PHARMACY
The Continuing Medical Education (CEP) program held on December 9th, 2023, at Sree Abirami College of Pharmacy reflects the institution’s steadfast commitment to academic excellence.It stands as a testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Co-sponsored by the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai, the program was accredited with a commendable 10 credit points, reflecting its significance in the realm of pharmaceutical education and research.
The event commenced with a warm welcome extended by the college Principal, Dr. S. Jeevanandham. The welcoming committee, headed by Dr. Periyasamy (Chairman), Dr. R. Senthil Kumar (Director), and Dr. P. Balamurugan (Director) of Sree Abirami Institutions & Hospital, greeted the distinguished gathering and all delegates, emphasizing the collaborative spirit that underpinned the conference. Dr. M. Senthilkumar, the Program Coordinator, provided insights into the conference theme, setting the tone for the intellectually stimulating discussions that would follow.
Dr. Sampath Kumar, the Principal of Erode College of Pharmacy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, sharing enlightening perspectives with the engaged audience. Accompanying him were esteemed speakers, Dr. N Jawahar, Associate Professor at JSS College of Pharmacy, Ooty, and Dr. Ragunathan, Director of CBNR. Their collective wisdom added depth and diversity to the conference, enriching the knowledge shared among the attendees.
The event drew a diverse crowd of more than 800 delegates, transcending geographical boundaries. Participants not only came from various parts of Tamil Nadu but also from Kerala, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas and knowledge. A highlight of the conference was the poster session, featuring 45 presentations showcasing innovative research contributions. Sree Abirami College of Pharmacy, Rathinam College of Pharmacy, and United College of Pharmacy were recognized with Best Poster Awards, underscoring the high quality of scientific inquiry presented. Dr. M. Senthil Kumar, Research Director, and Dr. B. Premkumar played pivotal roles in organizing the conference, ensuring its success.
The valedictory event promises to be a fitting conclusion to this academic extravaganza. Scheduled to commence with a Prayer Song performed by the students, it will be followed by the Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Thirumurugan, Professor at SACOP, who will also present a bouquet to all dignitaries on the dais. Subsequently, the Director, Dr. P. Balamurugan of Sree Abirami Institutions, will deliver the Presidential Address. Special Addresses by Dr. R. Jayabharathi, Dean of Academics, and Dr. A. Arvin Babu, Dean of Administration, will be followed by the Prize Distribution and feedback collection from the delegates. Dr. Prem Kumar, the Organizing Secretary, will then express the Vote of Thanks, officially concluding the proceedings.
