The 62nd National Pharmacy Week Inauguration Program at Sree Abirami College of Pharmacy, held on November 20, 2023, was a significant event that marked the beginning of an important week in the pharmacy calendar. The inauguration, conducted in the college auditorium, was a blend of cultural reverence and academic excellence, reflecting the vital role of pharmacists in healthcare.

Commencing at 10:15 am, the event opened with a soulful rendition of the Abirami Anthadhi, a devotional hymn, sung by the college students. This auspicious start set a tone of solemnity and pride for the rest of the function. The Principal of Sree Abirami College of Pharmacy, Dr. S. Jeevanantham, extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, faculty, and students present. His opening address highlighted the event’s significance and the college’s commitment to pharmaceutical education and practice.

The Managing Director of the college, Dr. R. Senthilkumar, then took the stage to address the gathering. In his speech, he emphasized the critical role of pharmacists in the healthcare system, underscoring their importance in patient care and community health. Dr. Senthilkumar’s words served as a reminder of the responsibilities and impact that pharmacists have in society.

Following the addresses, a cultural performance was staged by the students, a welcome dance that added a festive and celebratory atmosphere to the event. Mr. Rajasekar’s talk was both enlightening and instructive, offering the students valuable professional insights.

Students from various Pharmacy courses, including D.Pharm, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, and Pharm D, were in attendance, reflecting the diverse academic community of the college. The Chairman of the College, Dr. P. Periyasamy, took the opportunity to honor the Chief Guest with a memento and shawl, a gesture of respect and gratitude.

In a moment of academic recognition, the Chief Guest, Dr. Rajasekar, distributed mementos and certificates to the semester’s top-performing students. The program saw the participation of over 500 students, along with Dr. Jeyabharathi, the Dean of Academic Affairs. Their presence signified the collective spirit of the college and its dedication to the field of pharmacy.
