The driving force behind the event consisted of esteemed individuals from Sree Abirami College of Physiotherapy, including the Dean of Academics and Principal, Dr. R. Jayabharathi, the Vice Principal, Dr. S. Guhan, and Associate Professor Dr. Asha Shanti.

Events: Game Activities [10:00 am – 11:00 am]

The day commenced with engaging game activities designed to enhance motor and cognitive skills for the residents of Cheshire Homes. Activities included Musical Chair, Ball Passing, and Bottle Filling. Despite dealing with mental health challenges and the aftermath of strokes, the participants exhibited eagerness and enthusiasm, highlighting their resilience.

1. Prayer Song:

The program kicked off with a soulful prayer song performed by the college choir, setting a positive tone for the day.

2. Welcome Address:

Dr. Asha Shanti extended a warm welcome, emphasizing the significance of World Disability Day.

3. Presidential Address:

Dr. R. Jayabharathi, the Dean of Academics and Principal, delivered a powerful presidential address, underlining the importance of inclusivity and support for individuals with disabilities.

4. Chief Guest Address:

Dr. Sham Moses David, the physiotherapist of Cheshire Homes, served as the Chief Guest. He shared insights about Cheshire Homes and World Disability Day, and in a gesture of appreciation, received a heartfelt memento.

5. Prize Distribution:

The event concluded with the honorable distribution of prizes, recognizing and applauding the participants and winners of the game activities.

6. Performance:

The audience was treated to a special mimicry performance by Mister Dhanabal, adding a touch of entertainment. Additionally, one of the inmates showcased their talent by singing a beautiful Tamil song.
